Ray Hadley, the recently retired Radio 2GB veteran, and his wife Sophie have decided to sell their contemporary townhouse in Bella Vista. The couple made this decision last year as they planned to divide their retirement between the NSW Central Coast and Queensland’s Gold Coast.
The townhouse, located in northwest Sydney, features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage. It is currently listed with Jane Booty and Viviane Mylott from Stone Real Estate for $2.7 million.
Built in 2022, the two-storey townhouse is part of the Norwest Essentia Estate, a gated community developed by Mulpha. It offers a range of amenities, including a world-class wellness center with a heated pool, spa, well-equipped gymnasium, barbecue area, and full kitchen.
According to PropTrack, the median price for a four-bedroom house in Bella Vista is $2.45 million, slightly below its recent peak of $2.55 million. Rental properties in the area typically go for $1,000 per week, resulting in a gross rental yield of 2.5%. However, the Stone marketing suggests that the townhouse has the potential to achieve $1,450 per week in rental income if purchased by an investor.
After selling their townhouse, Ray Hadley and his wife plan to secure a penthouse near the Castle Hill Country Club, a world-class championship golf course where they both enjoy playing. In 2023, the couple purchased a five-bedroom home on the Bouddi Peninsula, north of Sydney, for approximately $2.75 million.
Ray Hadley, who had a beachfront property in Toowoon Bay until 2016, has been living on acreage since the mid-1990s. He sold his longtime Dural home in June 2021.
The couple, who got married in March 2021 after being colleagues for almost two decades, have seven grandchildren. Hadley often shares stories about his grandchildren on his radio show, and their arrivals have been “life-changing experiences” for him.
Despite retiring, Hadley has not ruled out selective broadcasting gigs and has owned a Gold Coast property since 2016.
