When it comes to our lives, we all have two choices to make. The first choice is to settle for less than our true potential. This means earning less, having less, and not investing in personal growth through reading and thinking. It also means trying less and lacking discipline. Ultimately, these choices lead to an empty life filled with constant apprehension instead of anticipation.
On the other hand, we have the second choice: to do it all. This means becoming all that we can be, reading every book possible, earning as much as we can, and giving and sharing as much as we can. It means striving, producing, and accomplishing to our fullest potential.
We all have the power to make this choice. We can choose to take action or not, to be all that we can be or settle for less. Like a tree reaching upward and outward, we should challenge ourselves to stretch to the full measure of our capabilities.
Why not seize every moment and do our best for as long as we can? Our ultimate objective in life should be to create as much as our talents, abilities, and desires allow. Settling for less is a failure in this worthy undertaking.
Ultimately, the best measurement of human progress is results. It’s not about conversations, explanations, or justifications. It’s about what we actually achieve. If our results fall short of our potential, we must strive to become more today than we were yesterday.
The greatest rewards in life are reserved for those who bring great value to themselves and the world around them through their personal growth and accomplishments.
